Gotham Knights was released last year but steered clear of the last generation of consoles around PS4 and Xbox One. All the more surprising is the message that a version for the switch could be on the way.
In October 2022, Gotham Knights was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The title was discussed quite controversially, because despite the release only for the newer consoles, the frame rate was limited to 30 fps. As a rule, most titles on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S support 60 fps. However, players also found other points of criticism, so the title did not get off to a very smooth start in this respect.
The last console generation around PS4 and Xbox One was not supported at all. And the fact that the switch didn’t get its own version wasn’t exactly surprising. Now there are signs of a turnaround in relation to the latter, because the Nintendo console, which is often referred to as underperforming, could now still get its own version of Gotham Knights.
As Nintendo Life reports, there is now an age rating for the game on the switch. Accordingly, the ESRB authority has now released Gotham Knights for the switch – in addition to the already known platforms PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Age ratings of previously unknown games or game versions are usually a fairly reliable indicator that a corresponding announcement is imminent. One could perhaps follow this week if Nintendo really does hold another Direct conference. In the course of the video format, Gotham Knights could also have a brief appearance.
