If you’re playing Starfield on an AMD graphics card, there’s a good chance you didn’t notice one of the game’s most glaring bugs because you simply couldn’t see anything. In Bethesda’s game, developed in partnership with AMD, AMD cards simply do not display a local star from a planet without an atmosphere.
But on Nvidia cards there is no such problem.
Reddit users noticed a problem with displaying the stars closest to the planet in Starfield on PCs with AMD video cards. The user published comparative screenshots that clearly demonstrated the bug.
The author emphasized that he took both screenshots on the same computer, installing both video cards alternately (RX 7900 XT and RTX 3070 Ti). This means that the problem is definitely not a save issue or some kind of PC related bug. This was confirmed by other users.
It’s not a game-breaking bug by any means, but it’s one of those that probably wouldn’t annoy you until someone pointed it out.
