Despite the petitions organized by Dreams fans to continue supporting it, Media Molecule confirms that the ‘live service’ development process of the creative sandbox has officially come to an end on PS4 and PlayStation 5: what will be the fate of the Dreamverse and the many levels created by the community?
With an open letter addressed to all Dreams fans, the English subsidiary of PlayStation Studios explains that from 1 September 2023 the ‘live service’ support for the game has ceased and that, consequently, the development process can be said to be officially concluded.
The end of support, however, will not mean the closure of the enormous interactive multiverse that hosts the minigames, machinima creations, original songs, artistic works and interactive experiences created by the explorers of the Dreamverse.
The guys at Media Molecule explain that “regardless of the closure of live service support, we wanted to reassure you about the future of the Sogniverse: all Dreams content will remain available on PlayStationboth for first-time users and for those who are now joining the Dreams community thanks to PlayStation Plus. If there are any further changes in this regard, these will be communicated in advance.”
The English software house also confirms that players will be able to continue to create and publish your own interactive experiences in the Dreams Dreams and, of course, access the minigames and creations of other fans. For the occasion, did you know that the writer gave almost 80 thousand players a few minutes of fun (and several headaches) to the visitors of the Dreams Dreams with a free party game about the Olympics?
