Keen Games announced that the German development studio will take part in the Steam Next Fest with its first self-published game title “Enshrouded” and will release a demo of the first hours of the game from October 9th to 16th. The new gameplay teaser gives you an idea of what to expect in the demo. The Steam Next Fest demo is the first opportunity to play the Frankfurt studio’s new co-op survival action RPG before the game title launches in Early Access.
The demo of “Enshrouded” will offer a variety of gameplay options and content. Within the predefined demo area, you can build, fight, demolish, level up, terraform, befriend the first legendary craftsman – the Blacksmith – in either co-op mode or alone, and do much more.
The demo begins with awakening as a Flameborn in the ravaged lands of Embervale. To begin, you must build an altar of flames that will help you discover riches and ruins surrounded by the mysterious mist. The development team would particularly like to encourage newcomers to the survival genre to try out the free demo, as “Enshrouded” aims for a relaxed approach to survival elements. Instead of dying due to lack of preparation, you can survive and gain buffs by eating food and using shelters or exploring villages to find NPC companions and loot enemies. Brave Flameborn can also explore the mysterious mist as part of the demo.
In preparation for the demo, the special Enshrouded gameplay video series offers a more in-depth look at the core pillars of fighting, building, survival and exploration, and terraforming. Players familiar with “Portal Knights” – Keen Games’ latest title – can expect the same voxel engine sandbox fun, only this time in a post-apocalyptic, fantasy-inspired world.
“Enshrouded” is expected to hit PC Early Access in Q4 2023.
