Over the last few hours, very sad news has emerged for Ascendant Studiosthe development team that just a few weeks ago launched Immortals of Aveum on the market, the magic-based shooter in Unreal Engine 5.
Confirming the rumors that were circulating during the evening, the CEO Bret Robbins revealed the important decision taken by Electronic Arts. The gaming industry giant, which apparently did not appreciate the game’s lack of success in terms of sales, has decided to lay off around 50% of the staff.
For those who don’t know, the game has always been advertised as a triple A shooter and EA had high expectations for the title. Unfortunately, the hopes were not reflected in the reception of the public and critics. The game not only did not reach large numbers, but on Metacritic it does not enjoy a particularly high average, also thanks to the large ones Technical Problems which plagued production at launch and very high system requirements compared to the average PC production.
While waiting to find out if the fired members will be welcomed by other software houses, we remind you that on the pages of Everyeye you can find the review of Immortals of Aveum with all the details on the history and gameplay of the peculiar FPS.
