As we have revealed to you over the last few days, many development teams around the world are terrified by the new policies of Unity, the company behind the famous graphics engine used not only by independent teams but also by major software houses. According to a report, the discontent led to some unpleasant gestures.
With an article published on the pages of Bloomberg, the well-known journalist Jason Schreier claims that something truly unpleasant has happened in the last few hours. The portal claims that some offices of Unity Technologies Inc. – Austin, Texas and San Francisco – have been temporarily closed due to the death threats received by the CEO, John Riccitiello. It would therefore have been a preventive measure to prevent some madman, annoyed by the latest decisions made by the company, from breaking into the offices and taking it out on the employees.
Although Schreier claims that there are no certainties about the matter, in one of his tweets he reveals that it is not so unlikely that someone really threatened the Unity exponents. The journalist himself reveals that he regularly receives threats of this type in conjunction with reports regarding certain rumors or leaks.
Did you know that, according to some developers, Unity’s new policies aim to make money on Game Pass?
