Square Enix announcedthat total sales of Final Fantasy VII Remake (including both digital sales and store deliveries) have exceeded 7 million copies.
This number includes indicators for both the remake itself and the updated and expanded Intergrade edition. The first one was released in 2020 on PS4, and a little over a year later the game received a version for PS5, and then appeared on Steam.
Three days after its release on PS4, the game sold 3.5 million copies, and by August 2020, shipments and digital sales exceeded 5 million copies. Thus, over three years, the remake’s circulation increased by only 2 million copies.
Yesterday, Square Enix announced that the sequel to the Final Fantasy VII remake, subtitled Rebirth, will be released on February 29, 2024, but only on PS5. Exclusivity for this version will last until May 29th. After this date, the game may appear on PC.
