Garlic EVO 2023 Fatal Fury City of the Wolves has been announced, a new chapter that will bring the series back on stage after many years of absence. But Fatal Fury may not be the only brand to be revived by SNK.
During an interview with the Japanese newspaper 4Gamerthe producer Yasuyuki Oda reveals that the company’s plans include creating new games for Art of Fighting e The Last Bladetwo other SNK fighting games much appreciated by long-time fans but stopped respectively since 1996 (year of Art of Fighting 3 The Path of the Warrior) and 1998 (when it came out The Last Blade 2). Oda did not go into more in-depth details, limiting himself only to confirming that there would be the intention to resume these two series in the future.
Possible future plans aside, the present is represented by Fatal Fury City of the Wolves, about which the producer reveals some additional information. First of all it is confirmed that it is the seventh main episode of the series, as confirmed by the presence of seven different claw scratches in the game’s logo. In addition, the development team aims to introduce the Rollback Netcode for online gaming, as well as having taken into consideration the idea of implementing a simplified control system similar to the one seen in Street Fighter 6.
For now the mystery remains about the release date and it is not yet clear on which platforms it will be published, but already now SNK seems to want to do things big with Fatal Fury City of the Wolveslooking forward to seeing it back in action as soon as possible.
