The film tells the story of a Mexican legend that is actually told. A monster lives off the coast of Baja California, the northernmost state of Mexico and very close to California, where it preys on humans and whales. It’s supposedly huge, and that already covers one of the most important elements of the shark horror film: a monstrously large shark. The film revolves around the American inspector Paul (Josh Lucas), who is supposed to inspect an oil platform in Baja California.
On the trip, which was planned to be relaxed, he brought his wife Ines (Fernanda Urrejola) and their children Audrey (Venus Ariel) and Tommy (Carlos Solórzano) with him. When he arrives at the platform, he finds out that only two employees are still working there. Both are highly paranoid and then the megalodon shark attacks: the Black Demon. The horror film probably doesn’t lack violence: the director is Adrian Grünberg, who was also responsible for the very explicit “Rambo: Last Blood”.
