September 18, 2023 at 2:45 p.m. by Jonathan Harsch – At the end of this month, Crystal Dynamics will end support for Marvel’s Avengers and remove the title from sale. Before that, the Definitive Edition is on sale again on Steam and can be purchased for 3.99 euros.
Marvel’s Avengers was a failure from the start. The first trailer was already met with rejection by fans of the franchise because the characters in the game did not look exactly like the well-known actors from the MCU, but were not significantly different from them either. Even the finished product couldn’t change the bad mood, a mediocre service game peppered with microtransactions and pay-to-win mechanics. In the end, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix passed the buck to each other. Now the title is about to end.
As of the end of September, Marvel’s Avengers will no longer be available in stores
On September 30th, less than two weeks from now, the developers will end support for Marvel’s Avengers (buy now). So no more updates, patches and hotfixes appear. At the same time, the game will be taken off the market and can no longer be purchased. Only those who already have it in their library by this point can continue to download it.
The good news is that owners can still use the title. This applies to both single player and multiplayer modes. All published content will remain available. This means that limited-time events will continue to take place every two weeks and recurring missions, events and rewards will be updated. The operations and the War for Wakanda expansion will also be playable as before.
