After launching the Pokemon Cards inspired by Munch’s The Scream, The Pokemon Company once again looks to the world of art by announcing a collaboration with the curators of the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam: the promotional video shows Pikachu among the sunflowers of the iconic works by the Dutch painter!
The new initiative promoted by The Pokemon Company thus involves the curators of the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam to bring Pokemon enthusiasts closer to the world of art and the works of one of its most undisputed masters.
Just take a look at the film created by the Japanese company to understand the scope and purpose of this collaboration, with Pikachu and Eevee running happily through a field of sunflowers before being surprised by aSunflora’s cheering armyagainst the backdrop of a sky beaded with clouds that recall Van Gogh’s unmistakable pictorial styles.
The partnership between The Pokemon Company and the curators of the Van Gogh Museum will officially begin on the day of Thursday 28 September. During the event, visitors to the Amsterdam museum will be able to admire Pokemon-themed reinterpretations of the most representative works of Van Gogh’s artistic production and purchase one of the five Pokemon Cards depicting the characters drawn in the style of Munch’s The Scream.
