They correct the weaknesses of the previous generation and bring welcome improvements. Today, we already find them with more than 10% discount.

An original appearance, but in a comfortable format
The Nothing Ear (2) are no exception to the rule, and of course opt for a completely transparent appearance. They copy the look of the first models, and take the in-ear format with the short stem. With their size and weight of only 4.5 g, they are comfortable to wear on a daily basis and can be worn for several consecutive hours without being bothered. The way of interacting with the headphones is different, we go from pressing controls to more ergonomic pinch management.
The audio part also improves on this second generation. They still include 11.6 mm diameter transducers, but the calibration of the headphones and the materials of the transducers have been revised. Result: they offer a very good level of detail thanks to a focus on midrange and a rather pleasant W-shaped sound signature. Otherwise, they not only benefit from compatibility with the most common codecs on the market, AAC and SBC, but also with the LHDC 5.0 codec, which allows you to benefit from Hi-Res Audio compatibility.
Convincing noise-canceling headphones, but…
This second version is equipped, like the previous version, with an active noise reduction function. In fact, it turns out to be rather convincing. The headphones succeed in reducing the most predictable sounds, whether in the subway or in the street. As for transparency mode, the result is very effective with a fairly natural rendering and reproduction faithful to the sounds.
This is undoubtedly the most negative point of this model: its autonomy. According to the manufacturer, the headphones are capable of lasting for 4 hours with noise reduction – 22.5 hours with the case – and for 6.3 hours without noise reduction – 36 hours with the case. For our part, after using the Nothing Ear (2) with a volume at 60% and active noise reduction pushed to the maximum, they lasted 3 hours 06 minutes. We are quite far from the 4 hours promised by the brand… and that’s it. This is actually a fairly average score compared to the current competition. This is also the reason why we gave this part a score of 4/10 in our test. As for recharging it, it will take 35 minutes to go from 0 to 90%.
