A preliminary decision from the CMA on the takeover of Activision Blizzard could be available as early as next week.
A preliminary decision from the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is expected next week. This is reported by The Verge, citing trusted sources.
After the CMA blocked Microsoft’s takeover of Activision Blizzard over cloud gaming concerns, the Windows giant appealed. However, it was later agreed to stay the appeal before the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) so that Microsoft could make restructuring proposals.
Microsoft had transferred the rights to cloud gaming for current and future games from Activision Blizzard to Ubisoft.
If you successfully overcome this hurdle with the CMA, nothing will stand in the way of completing the takeover.
