Amazon introduces new ways to monitor your connected home. On the program: an Alexa assistant more amazing than ever, intuitive controls and a function called Map View. Unfortunately, these additions are currently reserved for the United States. On the other hand, France has the right to the Amazon Echo Hub.
A dashboard compatible with lots of devices
Echo Hub is thus “Amazon’s first connected home control screen”. It joins the Echo Show 8 (3rd gen) in the list of new hardware features. More precisely, it is an 8-inch touch screen to be placed on a piece of furniture to hang on the wall (with a support to be purchased separately). Through it, you will have access to a dashboard to manage the connected devices in your home and even “arm their Ring security system, start a routine, organize widgets and see several streams from compatible connected cameras”.
The Amazon Echo Hub has an infrared sensor that allows it to detect if a person is approaching in order to wake up from sleep mode if necessary.
Zigbee, Thread, Bluetooth and Matter compatibility are included, making the Echo Hub usable with “more than 140,000 cameras, lights, locks, outlets, thermostats, speakers and other connected home devices available in the whole world “.
Price and release date
The Amazon Echo Hub is announced for France at a price of 199.99 euros, but without a precise marketing date. “Customers can sign up to be notified of pre-order availability.”
