The change to Deutsche Bahn’s saver price tickets will come into force on October 1, 2023. Deutsche Bahn justifies the new regulation by pointing out that this way customers can be better informed about possible changes to the timetable.
The social network “X” (Twitter) says that the customer data collected can be used “especially with a view to the numerous construction sites in the infrastructure” to proactively communicate with customers.
For a transitional period until the end of the year, saver price tickets can still be purchased at machines without personalization.
