October 2023 will be no worse than last month, and in some ways even better. We have prepared for you a selection of upcoming games with multiplayer or online components. And, I must say, it turned out to be quite big. So let’s take a look at what gamers will be playing in October 2023.
XDefiant
Our list opens with a multiplayer first-person shooter called XDefiant, which does not yet have an exact release date. The developers are planning to release the project in early or mid-October. Although the game was originally supposed to be released at the end of summer, due to the fact that it did not pass certification on consoles, the release had to be postponed until the problems were resolved.
XDefiant is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Ubisoft for PC, Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. In this game, two teams fight each other in arenas in a 6×6 format. There are many characters to choose from, divided into factions, each of which has unique characteristics.
New World: Rise of the Angry Earth
The first major addition to the MMORPG New World, called Rise of the Angry Earth, is scheduled to be released in October. The cost of this DLC will be $30, but in Russia it will not be officially available for purchase, just like the game itself.
Rise of the Angry Earth will bring with it many new features, including a completely new story, location, expedition and weapons. For the first time in the game there will be mounts for fast movement. Also, the maximum level will increase to 65, and the equipment rating will increase to 700. In addition, with the release of the add-on, the third season will begin with free content for all players.
Sword Art Online: Last Recollection
On October 6, 2023, the action role-playing game Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, based on the universe of the popular anime series “Sword Art Online,” will be released. The game will be available on PC, Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Sword Art Online: Last Recollection will tell about the confrontation between the Human Empire and creatures from the Dark Territory. The plot is based on the “War in the Underworld” arc, but will differ from the anime, as in previous games in the series. In addition to the story campaign, they promise a multiplayer mode in which up to 4 people can play.
Forza Motorsport
The eighth part of the Forza Motorsport series, which will not have a number in the title, will be released on October 10, 2023, and owners of the premium edition will be able to start playing 5 days earlier. The game will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
At launch, Forza Motorsport will feature over 500 cars that you can collect and customize with over 800 unique upgrades. According to the authors, the physical model is superior to Forza Motorsport 5, 6 and 7 combined. Materials and shaders are built from the ground up at higher resolutions and optimized for ray tracing. They also promise the best sound in the history of the franchise. To create an immersive soundscape, each audio system was rebuilt from the ground up to deliver new levels of sonic depth and authenticity.
Total War: PHARAOH
CREATIVE ASSEMBLY studio plans to release the real-time strategy Total War: PHARAOH on October 11, 2023 on PC. The game will offer you to plunge into ancient Egypt at the peak of its power and experience dramatic events that threaten its destruction. You’ll be tasked with re-creating a breathtakingly vivid vision of the collapse of the Bronze Age as you battle social disorder, confront natural disasters, and protect your people from waves of invaders.
A distinctive feature of Total War: PHARAOH will be the new campaign customization feature, thanks to which no two playthroughs will be the same. You can determine how you play with an expanded set of options, such as random starting positions for all factions, detailed resource settings, the ability to play with natural disasters, and much more.
River City: Rival Showdown
A former exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS portable console called River City: Rival Showdown will be available on new platforms, namely PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The release will take place on October 12, 2023.
River City: Rival Showdown takes the original River City Ransom story and adds multiple story paths, multiple endings, and a dynamic battle system that takes the Kunio-Kun series in a new direction. According to the plot, at night Kunio is attacked by two mysterious people, and a girl named Riki suddenly disappears. Now the main character has to find out the truth, and he only has three days to do this.
Star Trek: Infinite
On October 12, 2023, the global strategy Star Trek: Infinite, based on the popular Star Trek universe, will also be released on PC. In this project, players will be able to choose one of the four great powers of the galaxy: the United Federation of Planets, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union and the Klingon Empire. Each of them has its own unique characteristics, scenario, missions and much more. This makes the passage for all sides unique and varied. The game promises to surprise with excellent graphics, complex decisions and unique gameplay that will provide a new experience for fans of the famous series.
Lords of the Fallen
The release of a new game in the Lords of the Fallen franchise, which will have the same name, will take place on October 13, 2023. The project will be available on PC and current generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Lords of the Fallen is a sequel to the original part, the events of which will unfold in two parallel worlds. The world of the living has its cruel trials, but in the nightmarish kingdom of the dead, truly innumerable horrors lurk. Players will be able to customize their character’s appearance using a variety of options and choose from nine classes. The combat system will offer dynamic battles using hundreds of unique weapons. You will be able to play through the story campaign either alone or in co-op.
ENDLESS Dungeon
Tactical Roguelike action game ENDLESS Dungeon will be released on October 19, 2023 on PC, Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. In this game, which takes place in the Endless universe, you have to assemble a squad of heroes from the crew of a crashed ship, explore an abandoned space station and protect the crystal from an endless horde of enemies. You can control your squad alone or in co-op with friends.
Gangs of Sherwood
Little-known Appeal Studios, which previously developed Outcast: Second Contact and the unsuccessful adaptation of the show Fort Boyard, will release a third-person action game called Gangs of Sherwood. The game will be available on October 19, 2023 on PC and current generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Gangs of Sherwood will take place in the Robin Hood universe. Players will have to fight the army of the Sheriff of Nottingham, which has become stronger than ever thanks to the power of the philosopher’s stones. There will be four characters to choose from: Robin, Marian, Brother Took and Little John. Each of them has unique features and can be completely customized to suit different styles. Players will also increase their reputation by saving innocents and giving the loot to ordinary people. As you progress, you will be able to unlock new upgrades and more powerful combos.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Mario returns in the classic side view perspective! The platformer Super Mario Bros. will be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch on October 20, 2023. Wonder.
In the new game, eight heroes will be available as playable characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Toad (two types), Toadette, Nabbita and Yoshi (four types). In addition to the classic bonuses, such as the “fire flower” and the star, the developers have added several new ones. One of the innovations is badges that give the player various bonuses and seriously change the gameplay.
Dark Envoy
On October 24, 2023, a turn-based role-playing game called Dark Envoy will be released on PC. The project will offer a choice of 4 classes and 12 specializations. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with them, tweaking stats and skills to find the most effective tactical build. For example, you can choose a shooting ranger, an elementalist adept, or try something completely unconventional. In addition, the game includes 6 companions with pre-defined classes and specializations that will help the heroes in their adventures.
Cities: Skylines II
The sequel to Cities: Skylines will be released on October 24, 2023 on PC and current generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In Cities: Skylines II, players will be able to create their own cities from small settlements to huge metropolises, managing various aspects of urban development such as construction, transport, industry and economy. The developers promise a carefully thought-out economic system, thanks to which the decisions made truly change the city. Additionally, modding features will be greatly improved.
UFC 5
Console mixed martial arts simulator UFC 5 will be released on October 27, 2023 exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The new part, as you understand, will bypass not only PCs, but also consoles of the previous generation.
In UFC 5, the developers promise a new level of realism. The graphics in the game have become even better thanks to the capabilities of the Frostbyte engine, and a new authentic damage system can affect mobility, defense, stamina and much more. Captures have also been refined, new KO cinematic replays have appeared, and the live broadcast schedule has been completely updated.
