It has now become common in the hardware market to see leaks on new models even several months before the presentation. And not even the new video card models are immune, especially if we’re talking about the next top of the range! And apparently not even the future NVIDIA RTX 5090 is exempt, of which what could be the technical specifications have been leaked.
As often happens in these cases, the technical details and leaks come directly from China and were then reported by Videocardz. And if they should occur true, we are faced with a real ‘beast’. Not that the RTX 4090 wasn’t already, but the performance increase seems to be notable with a 50% increase in the available CUDA Cores.
In fact, the new GPU seems to have around 24,000 CUDA Cores, compared to the 16,384 of the RTX 4090. But the news is not limited to this. VRAM should also improve, in fact you should switch to 24GB or even 32GB of GDDR7 memory with a speed capable of reaching up to 32Gbps. The bus could be increased up to 512bit, guaranteeing a maximum bandwidth of 1.54TB/s. Finally, the L2 cache should go from 72MB to 128MB. And presumably there will also be similar increases to the RT Cores dedicated to Ray Tracing and Tensor Cores dedicated to AI-based functions such as the Frame Generator of DLSS 3.5.
We specify that the data of the RTX 5090 are only unofficial data for nowand not confirmed by any official statement from NVIDIA.
To date, the RTX 4090 appears to be an already monstrously powerful video card for all the games out there. Even Cyberpunk 2077 itself in 4K with maximum details and Ray Tracing Overdrive active, runs smoothly at over 100fps! But the prices, especially in Europe, are not within everyone’s reach, reaching over €2,000 on some custom models. Its successor should offer a performance increase of up to 50%..
The release is even scheduled for 2025with a presentation that should be held as usual at the end of summer.
