Overwatch 2 is turning one year old – and Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating this anniversary. For this purpose, all sorts of actions have been prepared in the game itself.
Overwatch 2 will soon be one year old and Blizzard wants to celebrate with the millions of players in the community for three whole weeks. In Arcade game mode, you can take part in previous events of the year and earn Overwatch Credits. You can use these to buy popular skins in the limited-time Anniversary Shop.
Otherwise, new actions are planned every week; according to official information, the timetable looks like this:
Week 1 – Winter Wonderland and Battle for Olympus
Always stay cool in the first week of the event with the Winter Wonderland event game mode. Take part in the ultimate snowball fight in both Elimination and Deathmatch versions of Mei’s Snowball Fight. Take part in the epic 1v5 Yeti Hunt or take on the challenging Lightning Ice Elimination modes.
Are divine challenges more your thing? Then look forward to the return of Battle for Olympus in classic deathmatch or team deathmatch. Battle for Olympus features eight heroes granted godlike power and ultimate abilities for divine battles that will rock the skies.
Week 2 – Assault, Greifmari and Starwatch: Galactic Rescue
Past meets present! Classic Overwatch Assault maps return in Arcade Mode. On Assault maps, teams must capture or defend two static objective points. To survive this challenging game mode and the extensive, intense team battles, extraordinary coordination and teamwork are required. Do you have what it takes to capture both objective points?
Additionally, chaotic fun awaits the return of Greifmari, our elimination-guaranteed game mode where you must collect Pachimari from fallen foes to score points for your team and win the game. Also: Become the savior of the galaxy in Starwatch: Galactic Rescue. In Starwatch, a team of Watchers (attackers) work together to free 3CH-O (played by Echo) from the clutches of the Infinite Empire (defenders) on a map with four objective points.
Week 3 – Summer games and practical jokes and magic
Pack the sunscreen – in the third and final week of the Anniversary Event, we’re taking a trip to the beach with the return of popular Summer Games event modes, including Lúcioball and Winston’s Beach Volleyball.
We also bring back Mischief and Magic, the Prop Hunt, in which Knight Genji pursues the devious villain Kiriko, who can transform into all sorts of everyday objects to hide herself.
Completing all challenges available in the event will reward you with a total of up to 3,000 Overwatch Credits. Recurring premium skins in the Anniversary Shop include Space Raider for Cassidy, Beekeeper for Sigma, Hermes for Lúcio, and many more.
The Overwatch 2 2023 Anniversary Event is available now through October 9th. The anniversary shop will disappear on October 16th.
