At the beginning of September, Honor presented two new foldable smartphones in Berlin, at IFA 2023. At the time, the Honor Magic V2 was presented as a smartphone to hit the market, and the Honor V Purse as just a concept. Now it stops being.
The device was officially presented this Tuesday in China, with specifications and price details to be revealed. The price starting at 6,000 yuan (€770) for the 16 GB/256 GB version may scare off the less attentive due to its low price. But this is explained when we look at the specifications.
Honor V Purse has a low price, but a mid-range processor
Firstly, equipment prices are always cheaper in China than in Portugal. Secondly, the device is controlled by the Snapdragon 778G processor, which is a mid-range processor that is not the latest.
The smartphone stands out for its impressive thickness of 8.6 mm when folded and its weight of just 214 grams. By comparison, a Galaxy S23 Ultra is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 234 grams. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is 8.3 mm thick and weighs 221 grams. It should also be noted that, unfolded, the Honor V Purse is an impressive 4.3 mm thick.
The device has a 7.71-inch OLED panel inside, with a resolution of 2348 by 2016 pixels and a 6.45-inch exterior with a resolution of 2348 by 1088 pixels. This panel has a peak brightness of 1600 nits, a refresh rate of 90 Hz and PWM dimming of 2160 Hz.
On the back of the device we find a 50 MP main camera, accompanied by a 12 MP ultrawide camera. The front camera is MP, but with this design it is also easy to use the rear cameras for selfies or video calls.
Even with its low weight and thickness, it has a 4500 mAh battery, with 35 W charging. The big difference of this device, as we explained in detail in the original launch, is the fact that it can serve as a bag and be a true accessory of fashion.
