September 20th, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. by Philipp Sattler – There are more toxic communities, but in WoW you are still not a child of sadness. This was shown again when a player was kicked out of the group right before the final boss because “a friend needs his loot”.
When it comes to toxic communities, the gaming world has a lot to offer. Whether it’s League of Legendy, CoD or Fortnite – people are flaming, insulting and tearing each other down everywhere. This also applies to some extent to our WoW community. Although the toxicity isn’t nearly as bad as in other games, people don’t necessarily treat each other as friendly. Although there are of course plenty of positive exceptions.
Especially when it comes to loot. Then friendly players suddenly turn into greedy monsters. The user Kinderpin can tell you a thing or two about it. He was raiding with a group of various other players and everything went well. Until suddenly the group leader made short work of him and kicked him out of the group – because of loot that didn’t even exist yet.
“Sorry, my friend needs loot”
When the group reached the final boss, the group leader wrote to the player in question on his caller and briefly explained to him that his friend would now take his place because he needed loot.

And so Kinderpin was removed from the group and replaced with another caller. That alone would be highly toxic and morally reprehensible. The whole thing gets a special spice because Kinderpin had no interest at all in the “normal” prey. He just wanted to defeat the final boss so that he could have a chance at the item for the Caller’s Legendary. But this is personal loot and no one can take it away from anyone else.
If Kinderpin had simply been allowed to stay in the group, the chance of loot for his “friend” would have increased even further – as he rightly points out. But it didn’t help him. He was out, the other caller was in and Kinderpin had to find a new group for the legendary item.

Do you regularly doubt the humanity of WoW players during such actions or have you never come across something like that? We have experienced a lot ourselves, but we have never encountered such audacity (combined with a pinch of stupidity). By the way, many Reddit users wanted to know the player’s name. However, this had to be hidden because otherwise it would violate reddit guidelines. But you don’t need a lot of fantasy to still recognize the name.
