During the afternoon of Thursday, Capcom held a substantial press conference dedicated to the upcoming titles. And among these news on Dragon’s Dogma 2 couldn’t be missing either. Director Hideaki Itsuno told us about it.
During the show, the classes that you can choose and which best suit your play style were revealed. Initially there will be four classes available: Archer, Fighter, Thief and Mage. Here are their descriptions.
Archer: Archers use bows and arrows to strike enemies from afar and excel at hitting enemies in midair or creating opportunities for follow-up attacks after hitting an opponent’s weak spots
Fighter: The Fighter wields a sword and shield to cut through enemy ranks and deliver powerful blows, while also using shields to protect himself and his allies
Thief: They attack with deadly speed, delivering rapid, consecutive strikes with daggers in both hands and demonstrating exceptional mobility. They quickly move away after striking, use gaps to grapple onto enemies, and deal massive damage. Thieves can steal from both enemies and NPCs
Mango: Armed with his staff, the Wizard offers support to the team in various ways: launches magical attacks, recites spells that strengthen his companions’ weapons and casts healing formulas
These classes can be used both directly by the player and as companions in their party. But to these two more hybrid ones are added that can be used exclusively by the player and are: Archer-Mage and Mystic Swordsman.
Archer-Mage: Using magical arrows, the Archer-Mage has a versatile moveset capable of attacking, healing allies, or even learning a custom ability that unleashes a devastating attack across a large area, at the cost of reducing his own health maximum
Mystical Swordsman: Uses his special Dual Spear and magic to attack enemies from near or far with punishing blows or spells that can paralyze enemies or hurl multiple objects at them
The Dragon’s Dogma 2 game world is divided between two nations: “Vermund, the kingdom of humans, and the bestial nation of ferids. Vermund is a land of rolling green hills, with a fortified capital populated by nobles and settlements of commoners surrounding the castle. Meanwhile, Battahl’s steep canyons are littered with ancient ruins that became the foundations of today’s cities. When venturing outside the safety of each nation’s cities, players will encounter travelers, merchants, soldiers, and other people going about their daily lives. Each character has their own motivations and goals and can even approach the Arisen with a mission. If a Pawn in your party knows about a mission, she will offer to guide the Arisen to her destination. If the sky begins to darken during the journey, the Arisen should seek a camp to sleep rather than brave the suffocating darkness and greater dangers of the night. Ox carts also offer quick passage between major cities, but beware: these transports can be attacked before they arrive.”
Accompanying the press conference Two galleries of artwork and screenshots respectively were also revealedwhich show us better characters and game graphics.
