The world of smartphones is increasingly stagnant, with devices looking more and more like the “neighbor” next door. This is exactly why many users and manufacturers look to foldables as the great solution to the problem.
However, for this solution to really exist, there must be more wallet-friendly alternatives, especially in the field of Fold devices, such as the Pixel Fold or Galaxy Fold. These devices remain too expensive, and therefore, out of the hands of ‘casual’ people.
Well, many looked to OnePlus Open as the solution to this problem. In other words, the first foldable smartphone of the ‘Fold’ type that didn’t mean selling a kidney or part of the liver on the black market. However, after many signs pointing to its launch, the device disappeared… Until now!
OnePlus Foldable canceled? No! Just postponed!
Therefore, 2023 is obviously the year in which the foldable smartphone becomes more normal and accessible, largely thanks to bets from Oppo, Google and Samsung. However, some essential things are missing for this foldable world to come to fruition and become truly popular. What is missing? Well, better prices, and alternatives more focused on the mid-range.
Having said all this, while the mid-range will have to wait a bit, OnePlus is now preparing the first ‘Almost Top of the Range’ Fold. In other words, the same OnePlus strategy, but now in a Fold format. An incredible device at a more attractive price. The launch will take place in October. (19th day)
In short, taking into account that October 19th is not that far away, it is expected that more details about the OnePlus Open will be revealed in the coming days. We’ve seen the renders a number of times, now I just want to see how the foldable behaves and holds up against the competition in terms of performance, camera, battery and, most importantly, durability. (AND PRICE!)
