In this section, we’ll look point by point where to go and where to look for evidence to uncover the real causes of the crime.
Collect information about murders
First of all, ask Sister Janissa where to start looking for evidence, where the crime took place and where the bodies of the victims are located. She will point to the basement in the temple kitchen: the crime took place there.
In the bedroom, examine the body of the high priest and take the key to Lorgan’s chest. Rosa will tell you that the dead man’s hands were cut off.
You can communicate with other priests of the temple, but you will not receive valuable information. Run to the kitchen and open the hatch to the basement.
Find the crime scene
In the basement near the altar there is blood all over. Behind the altar there is a suspicious wall that can be moved. This secret passageleading to the caves where the temple priests sheltered tiefling refugees.
To move the wall, you will have to pass two attentiveness checks and find two heraldic signs in the room with the altar, hiding the control buttons for the secret passage. Heraldic signs are located opposite each other.
There is an alternative way to get into the caves. In the room with the altar there is a door to the office, inside there is a hole in the wall, you can jump over or fly through it using magic or the illithids’ “Flight” ability. Overcome the gap and you will find yourself in the caves. Be sure to open from the inside secret passage to their allies so that the squad can be reunited. There is a battle ahead, so the power of the whole team will be required.
Find the murder weapon
Not far from the secret passage in the caves there are suspicious characters. Come closer: the battle will begin immediately, without dialogue preludes. During the battle, it turns out that the strange people are actually monsters in disguise.
At the end of the battle, be sure to examine each corpse. One of the enemies named Zomm is carrying an item important for this quest – Key with floral motif.
Very close to the scene of the fight you can find the Immobilizer dagger, which was used to kill Priest Logan. Attentive heroes will easily notice the hole in which the evidence is stored.
Use flower key
To understand what the Flower Key is for, talk to the corpse of Doppleganger Assassin Zomm. Select the line “I found this flower key. What is it for? It turns out that he is unlocking something in Freigo’s rooming house.
Go to Freygo’s rooming house, go inside, go up to the second floor. One of the bedrooms has an attic staircase.
Go up and interact with the closet in the attic. The flower key will open the closet, through which you can go to the secret living room.
Explore Freigo’s shelter
Several key items provide compelling evidence pointing to Briglor’s innocence:
Lies on the desk Bloody Parchment – this is a list of victims with marks of those killed. It is the main evidence. You will find a bloody stain near the bed. If you successfully complete the investigation test [КС — 10], you will find the corpse of Ffiona Goldenthigh under the bed. Use the magic of communicating with the dead and find out that Ffiona died at the hands of her own son Dolor, a Baalist assassin. This evidence is indirect and not required to complete the task.
In the room, inspect the cabinets and tables for valuable items:
Various scrolls of magic. Scarlet leather armor.
Leave the shelter. Time to present the evidence found to investigator Valeria.
