Studio Striking Distance its founder and game director of its debut game The Callisto Protocol, Glen Scofield, is leaving. Let us remember that Scofield is also known as one of the creators of the original Dead Space.
The news was reported by Bloomberg, citing a statement from a Korean publisher. Krafton, under whose wing is Striking Distance. Along with Scofield, two more members of management are leaving the studio – the chief operating officer and the chief financial officer. All three departures are called voluntary.
Scofield says he’s sad to leave Striking Distance, but he knows “the studio is in good hands.” Steve Papoutsis, who served as SD’s director of development and general manager, becomes the new CEO. In the past, he also worked as a producer for the Dead Space series.
Let us recall that sales of the space horror film Callisto Protocol, which was released in December 2022, did not meet the expectations of its creators. And last month, Striking Distance laid off 32 employees to “reprioritise.”
