Cyberpunk 2077, with version 2.0, improves everything related to the world of vehicles in the game, even outside of the much talked about combat. CD Projekt RED has in fact improved the system that manages traffic and pedestriansmaking them more responsive and realistic. The driving pattern of the cars has also been changed and made heavierjust as the way to buy cars has changed. We will no longer have fixers contacting us for certain cars, but rather a web page called AUTOFIXER.
NPC vehicles can now change lanes to avoid obstacles. Pedestrians now tend to avoid colliding with moving vehicles. NPC drivers are now better at avoiding players traveling on foot. Improved braking, acceleration and suspension of cars in traffic. Some NPCs may now react aggressively when you steal their vehicle. Various improvements to traffic density depending on the time of day and night, resulting in more realistic traffic behavior. Driving with a mission-related NPC in the vehicle no longer mutes traffic in the occupied lane, giving the feel of a more chaotic city.
These changes help improve the overall performance of Night City. Since its launch, many people have complained about the feeling of being in front of a postcard, a beautiful city to see but which was essentially dead. Comparisons with GTA have been abounding, even going so far as to bother with GTA 3 to demonstrate that even a game from 20 years ago had better traffic and who reacted sensibly to the player’s behavior. CD Projekt RED has ‘tied it up’ and has done everything possible to improve the traffic of Cyberpunk 2077, also making it variable depending on the time.
The Autofixer system instead allows you to purchase your car via the website of the same name. We will be able to access it from the V terminal or from the terminals available at the fuel stations or workshops in Night Citywhich can be found by enabling the Autofixer filter. Changes are also coming to the management of vision, steering and many aspects related to the dynamics of the vehicle.
Added new vehicle view and control configuration settings. You can also now choose between three different third-person view distances when driving a vehicle. We have implemented various changes and adjustments to the performance and handling of vehicles: A new type of speed-sensitive steering applies to most vehicles. The maximum speed and turning radius adapt better to speed than before. All engines now have a torque curve that reflects the character and type of engine (e.g. supercharged, turbo, hybrid, etc.). We performed balancing and adjustments to the acceleration and top speed of the vehicles. We performed a complete overhaul of the braking force. For slower vehicles it was significantly increased and all stopping distances were measured and adjusted as necessary. All vehicles react better to rough terrain and impacts with curbs, traffic islands, etc. Vehicles now feel “heavier” as we have improved the application of gravity based on suspension movements. Many vehicles have been completely retuned or their tuning has been heavily modified. Various other small improvements. Added a new “Help” category and help manual to the database.
Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.0 is available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
