Despite the 2:3 home defeat to AEK in the first round of the Europa League, Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi believes his team played well:
“In terms of quality, we played very well. I am very proud of the football shown. We were not as experienced as AEK, but we showed character and played with the right attitude.
We controlled the game and dominated. We are disappointed with the result, but we must analyze the game, it was good. We can improve, but it’s hard to accept defeat. If we want to take a step forward, we must know before the match about situations in which we might miss goals.”
