On September 22, sales of the iPhone 15, including the iPhone 15 Pro Max, started, and Ukrainian online stores opened pre-orders (they will begin shipping to customers on September 29) for new Apple smartphones at prices slightly higher than last year at the launch of the iPhone 14.
Pre-orders simultaneously opened at various Ukrainian retailers that officially sell Apple equipment. At the same time, Allo, which is one of the official distributors, analyzed the requests of Ukrainians on September 12 and shared interesting information about customer preferences. The main take is expected and unexpected at the same time: in the premium segment, top models are still in greatest demand, despite the war and the difficult economic situation.
Thus, according to Hello, the iPhone 15 Pro Max aroused the greatest interest among Ukrainians. It was the top model iPhone 15 that interested half of those who left a request regarding the price of the new product on the website. The version of the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a memory configuration of 256 GB for 63,499₴ received the most requests, while the black color Black Titanium turned out to be more popular than Natural Titanium – 42% and 30% of those interested, respectively. The iPhone 15 Pro 128 GB model in Black Titanium color was of interest to 8% of customers. Yes, requests are not equivalent to actual sales, but the preferences of Ukrainians noted by “Hello” generally correspond to global trends and consumer sentiment – it was the older models that were purchased most of all, which has a lot of evidence. In addition, pre-orders for the iPhone 15 in Ukraine started at midnight, and in the morning the older models disappeared from some stores – they were sold out in a matter of hours. True, the size of the first batch is unknown.
“Hello” also separately notes that last year there was a similar situation: among the 2022 models, Ukrainians most bought the iPhone 14 Pro with 128 GB, the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 256 GB, and the iPhone 14 Pro with 256 GB. The colors most often chosen were Deep Purple and Midnight. In general, throughout less than 2023, the iPhone 13 with 128 GB of memory remained the most popular on the Hello network.
