The headphones are made in the in-ear plug format and are equipped with 12.4 mm speakers with a titanium-coated diaphragm. They claim to have an independent acoustic chamber and support for three operating modes of the active noise reduction system up to 46 dBA, which is 2.6 times more effective than the Buds 4 headphone model. Redmi Buds 5 are capable of filtering out up to 99.3% of external noise.
In addition, Redmi Buds 5 supports a transparency mode with three intensity levels and is equipped with wind-resistant dual microphones thanks to a special body design, as well as support for a proprietary AI algorithm that helps filter out wind noise.
Redmi Buds 5 are connected to the signal source via Bluetooth 5.3 protocol. The new product claims to support AAC and SBC audio formats. The manufacturer promises up to 40 hours of battery life, including charging from the case. In 5 minutes of recharging from the case, the headphones will replenish energy for 2 hours of music playback.
Redmi Buds 5 wireless headphones with an active noise reduction system are already available for sale. They will be offered in Sunny Snow White, Midnight Black and Taro Purple colors.
Redmi will also release a special version of the Buds 5 AAPE Trend Limited Edition for 299 yuan (about $41) in camouflage colors, in the style of the presented Redmi Note 13 Pro+ smartphone. They will be available from September 26th.
