After dealing a big dent at the summer box office, Jason Statham and his little sharks arrive on HBO Max.
We might think that the success of Megalodon in 2018 was the result of chance. The movie raised $529.2 million thanks to the star power of Jason Statham. With the arrival of The Meg 2: The Pit while Barbie and Oppenheimer were giving everything on the billboard, would it have something to do at the box office?
And so much so! Megalodon 2: The pit has raised $390.7 million and has more than amortized its production budget (129 million) and the advertising estimate, which is around 65-100 million.

It will be next Friday September 29th when Jason Statham’s film begins to splash on the platform with its display of action, comedy, teeth and… tentacles.
The Megalodon 2: The Pit is an entertaining film with no other pretensions than to make us have a good time with Statham’s epic epics on screen. It neither hopes to revolutionize cinema nor compete for the title of best sharksplotation film, although it is much more entertaining than many.
