Head coach of Lviv Karpaty Myron Markevich summed up the results of the match of the 9th round of the First League of Ukraine against Niva (1:1).
“Probably the interesting thing about football is that you plan one thing, but something else turns out. Nothing bad happened. We are moving forward. We must analyze our small mistakes that led to the missed goal. Although there was no goal there, that was at the discretion of the referees. In general, the game was combative. It is clear that we had a complete advantage, but the team that leads the game does not always win.
We have a lot of young players who are just starting to play serious football and make mistakes out of the blue, so this goal threw us off balance. The team started quite confidently and scored a goal. And the missed goal from the set piece shook us to some extent. However, I will say again that in the second half we pulled ourselves together, played well, but we need to score,” Markevich said.
After 9 rounds of the First League, Karpaty confidently leads Group A with 23 points.
