NACON and Appeal Studios have shared new details about the four heroes of the collaborative adventure game Gangs of Sherwood in a new video series narrated by Andrea Di Stefano, Director of Appeal Studios.
In Gangs of Sherwood, you’ll be able to choose between four characters: Robin, Marian, Little John and Brother Took, each with a completely unique and customizable playstyle to fight against the sheriff’s evil armies.
Robin
Robin of Loxley is the leader of the Resistance and an archer who never misses. He has a wide range of skills and combinations that will allow him to defeat the toughest of enemies once he reaches his maximum potential, all from a distance.
With her special shots, Robin can hit multiple enemies at once, penetrate shields, and launch enemies into the air, opening up combo opportunities for her allies.
Marian
Marian is the infamous daughter of the Sheriff of Nottingham, and her deadly elegance hides a host of deadly abilities. She is an assassin who can fight equally well from a distance or up close using her retractable chainsword.
Whether you’re using her sword to take out large groups of enemies or aiming her daggers at more distant enemies, Marian is extremely versatile and can effectively deal damage throughout the battle arena.
Brother Tuk
Brother Tuk is a monk healer who plays a key role in the Resistance. You will never see him without a mace and a barrel of honey. Tuk is a melee specialist and a great defensive tank for your team. Swing your mace to deal massive area of effect damage and deploy a giant shield to protect your allies from your toughest enemies.
Took’s gameplay involves charging his attacks to increase their damage and give them destructive properties, such as creating shockwaves or deadly pillars of fire. His incense burner can also heal all nearby allies.
Little John
Little John, the former leader of the sheriff’s army, is the most experienced member of the gang. His courage and power are unmatched. He is a ferocious brawler, capable of delivering swift, devastating blows.
His devastating steel fist deals massive melee damage and stores heat, which he can then unleash with a powerful Overheat attack. He deals heavy damage to his opponents by grabbing them or emitting powerful laser beams that cross the battlefield.
Each character has a wide range of special abilities. They can be customized using various fragments that can be found during the adventure. These fragments change characters’ attacks to suit the player’s preferred fighting style. When our heroes encounter boss enemies, they can use their unique skills called “Rebel Abilities” or temporarily enhance their skills with a special mode called “Rebel Instinct”.
Gangs of Sherwood is a story-driven co-op adventure game for 1-4 players with fast-paced gameplay and high replay value set in a reimagined world based on the legend of Robin Hood. Using the power of the Philosopher’s Stone, the armies of the Sheriff of Nottingham have gained untold power and are oppressing the people of England more than ever. This unique sci-fi take on the Robin Hood legend features explosive combat, impressive combos, and cooperative gameplay for those who love epic battles and challenges in stunning environments.
Gangs of Sherwood will be released on October 19 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store.
