Ukrainian propaganda has been discovered in Cyberpunk 2077, which the developer will remove with the next update.
Cyberpunk 2077 last received a Ukrainian localization with Update 2.0. But Ukrainian propaganda also found its way into the update.
In the CD Projekt RED forum, the user ALLOCTAC drew attention to this and posted corresponding pictures.
Among other things, references to the war were discovered through changed lines of dialogue. For example, the Ukrainian dialogue line “We’re at the end” was changed to “F*** you in the same direction as the ship.” Furthermore, graffiti was replaced, which refers to the occupation of Crimea by Russia in 2014.
Developer CD Projekt RED is aware of the problem and apologized for it. They wrote about it via Telegram:
“The Ukrainian localization of Cyberpunk 2077 contains a few lines that may have offended some Russian players. These lines were not written by CD PROJEKT RED employees and do not reflect our views. We are working to correct them and replace them in the next update.”
“We apologize for this situation and are taking action to ensure this does not happen again.”
