— He played very poorly today, he made mistakes often. Didn’t defend, allowed a big lack of passes. But the problem is not in any one player or even in the team – the problem is in the mentality. We were in a very bad mood for this match. He was very important to us, special. We wanted to win it, but our concentration was very poor. We started the game poorly, missed a lot of counterattacks from the opponent, and there was a high lack of performance in our actions. We weren’t organizationally ready for this match. And that’s why it was very difficult for us. We made an unreal number of mistakes today! I didn’t think, for example, that Benito’s marriage could be as high as it was today.
Today young Ponomarenko came with us to the match. But I did not include it in the application – I was mistaken. I was also mistaken in that it was necessary to give a chance to young players – Malysh, Tsarenko. I repeat, I was wrong. On the other hand, today there were many young football players who were not able to play football at the required level.
Well, I also didn’t understand the referee today. Every two minutes he took long pauses. Even in situations where events took place 50-60 meters from the penalty area. It is unclear what he wanted to achieve. He provoked the game. Because of his approach, the teams could not play quickly, they could not show their football – the referee did not give it to them.
