Honda has just presented two very different electric concepts: a funny little motorcycle and a scooter with a more demure look.

After several years of waiting, Honda’s offensive on the electric two-wheeler market is starting in earnest. The Japanese firm seems to want to pull out all the stops and is preparing to build a range that is as complete as it is diverse. On the occasion of the Japan Mobility Show, it has just unveiled two electric concepts with very different philosophies: an original small motorcycle and a more classic scooter.
Honda SC e: a draft of a future 125 cc equivalent?
Even if it seems very realistic, the SC e: is not a production model but a concept. Honda’s presentation is also very succinct: a single photo and not the slightest technical data. The only thing we know is that the scooter has two batteries, and that these are removable and to be “swapped” (that is to say to be exchanged once empty in a station provided for this purpose). effect).

The SC e: is clearly more imposing than the EM1 e:, the 50 cc electric launched in Europe a few months ago. Also, we can think that it is a 125 equivalent, even if Honda avoids the question. The presence of a second battery (the EM1 e: only has one) also speaks in favor of this hypothesis.
The subject of a hypothetical commercial launch is not addressed in the press release either. What is certain is that several electric scooters appeared in the battle plan unveiled last year. It is therefore not forbidden to be optimistic!
Honda Pocket, like a Motocompo tune
The Honda Pocket is also to be placed in the concept category. What was said for the SC e: also applies to this astonishing little electric motorcycle: Honda is, for the moment at least, particularly stingy with images and information. The technical characteristics and the future of the concept – if it has one – are therefore not mentioned.
The Honda Pocket forms a pair with the Sustaina-C Concept, an electric city car unveiled at the same event. Both vehicles are partly made from recycled acrylic resin.

In its shape and size, the Pocket is reminiscent of the Motocompo marketed in the early 1980s. In the United States, Honda recently presented a new interpretation of this folding motorcycle, the Motocompacto. This time equipped with an electric motor, the machine is limited to 25 km/h, which limits it to strictly urban or recreational use.

The unfortunate thing is that this adorable Motocompacto seems strictly reserved for the American market. It costs $995 there, the equivalent of around 945 euros.
