Netflix and Legendary have announced an anime series about Lara Croft, the release date of which is scheduled for 2024. The title is positioned as a film adaptation of the Tomb Raider video game series and, judging by the presented footage, the plot will be based on the game trilogy, which started in 2013. The English-language name of the project is Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, and in Russian it was localized as “The Legend of Lara Croft.”
Details of the plot have not yet been revealed, however, as the title already implies, the central figure of the story will be the famous tomb raider Lara Croft. There are speculations that the voice of the main character will be given by the inimitable Hayley Atwell, familiar to the viewer from Agent Carter. It is worth noting that this project is part of a kind of “resurrection” of the Tomb Raider franchise. Amazon, in alliance with Crystal Dynamics, plans to release a new game in the series, as well as launch a live-action series and a full-length film starring Lara Croft.
