This week, the HBO Max received two big hits in cinemas in 2023. After much waiting, the films Que Horas Eu Te Pego (2023) and Megatubarão (2023) are finally available to streaming subscribers.
There is no denying that this was Barbenheimer’s year and, as a result, other films did not have the same level of visibility. However, Megatubarão 2 managed to “pay for itself” after just six days of showing in theaters, closing its campaign with more than US$393 million around the world — around R$1.9 billion in direct conversion.
The film starring Jennifer Lawrence stood out, mainly because it is a romantic comedy rated R-rated in the United States — a genre that has been losing popularity in recent years.

What Time Will I Pick You Up? (2023)
Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) is an immature and broke woman. When her car is seized and her income as an Uber driver is compromised, she needs to find an alternative or she will lose the house in which she has lived her entire life.
Everything changes when she finds an unusual advertisement: a rich couple is looking for a woman to “date” their shy and inexperienced son before he moves permanently to college. In this hilarious adventure, Maddie and Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) learn to grow together as they get to know each other. Check out the trailer below;
Despite having a high sexual content, the indicative rating in Brazil is for people over 16 years old. The film was written and directed by Gene Stupnitsky, known for his work on The Office (2005), Professora Sem Classe (2011) and Good Boys (2019). One of the highlights of the film is the perfect combination of Jennifer’s performance with the actress’s characteristic sense of humor.
Megashark 2 (2023)
The sequel to the 2018 film features the return of Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), embarking on yet another exploration into the depths of the ocean. However, his team is surprised by a mining operation that forces them into a battle for survival — facing environmental looters amid Mega Sharks.

The super production, which combines elements of action, adventure and horror in a bloody journey, was directed by Ben Wheatley, known for Free Fire – The Shooting (2016), No Topo do Poder (2015) and Kill List (2011). Despite its notoriously exaggerated content, at a certain point the film stops taking itself seriously and just continues with what audiences who like giant animals expect.
