There are approximately four months left before the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series of flagship smartphones, but leaks of information about new products have already begun to appear on the Internet. The SmartPrix website and authoritative insider Steve Hemmerstoffer, known under the nickname OnLeaks, published videos and renderings of the basic flagship Samsung Galaxy S24. This is the most compact smartphone in the series, it is equipped with a 6.1-inch display.
Judging by the renders and videos, the design differences of the Galaxy S24 from its predecessor will be quite minor. In particular, the S24 has completely flat polished side edges, in contrast to the slightly rounded sides of the Galaxy S23. Flat edges make the smartphone look like the latest iPhone generations, although Apple has already abandoned glossy edges with the iPhone 15. At the same time, the new model has the same rounded corners and metal frame as its predecessor. The design of the rear camera with three lenses placed vertically was also retained.
The video also shows the Galaxy S24 smartphone in blue with a UWB antenna strip under the power button. Ultra Wideband (UWB) support is available on the older Galaxy S23+ and S23 Ultra models, but for the first time it will be available on the base model of the flagship Galaxy series. Also in the renders you can see a USB Type-C port, a SIM card slot, a microphone and a speaker at the bottom. There are two more microphones at the top of the case.
According to sources, the Galaxy S24 will have the following dimensions: 147 × 70.5 × 7.6 mm. That is, the new smartphone is slightly longer and narrower than the Galaxy S23 with the same thickness.
According to rumors, the global version of the Galaxy S24 will come with an Exynos 2400 processor, while in Canada, China and the US, the version with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip will be sold. The smartphone is expected to be equipped with an LTPO OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 2500 cd/m2. The volume of RAM of the new product will be up to 12 GB, flash memory – 256/512 GB. The main camera of the smartphone will include a 50-megapixel sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module and a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 10-megapixel sensor. The selfie camera resolution will be 12 megapixels.
