If robot vacuum cleaners often save us by taking care of one of the most exhausting chores of everyday life, most references are displayed at prices that are far too excessive for certain households, especially those which are full of various technologies. Fortunately, it is possible to find much simpler models on the market, but effective enough to make short work of dust, and above all less expensive. This is precisely the case for iRobot’s Roomba 697, whose price has just fallen below 180 euros during the French Days period.

The iRobot Roomba 697 may be an entry-level model, but it is fully capable of vacuuming up all the dirt that litters the floor on a daily basis. To carry out its task, it can use a battery of sensors which allow it to find its way efficiently in space and navigate from room to room, while avoiding colliding with various obstacles or falling, all simply. Note also its low height (9.3 cm) which allows it to slip under certain pieces of furniture that are not too low or in narrower spaces.
To fulfill its mission and leave you with a clean floor each time it passes, the Roomba 697 is equipped with two multi-surface rubber brushes, capable of capturing various dirt. The cleaning head is also able to adapt its height depending on the type of floor. Dirt Detect technology allows it to recognize the dustiest places to enhance its cleaning.
Practical everyday features
On the iRobot Home application, the user can have access to a host of very practical features so that the robot can reveal its full potential. For example, your cleaning habits can be recorded and, based on these, the robot can make personalized suggestions for you. Additional cleanings may also be offered depending on the seasons, to minimize the risk of allergies, for example. Via the application, it is also possible to have access to Google Assistant and Alexa, in order to be able to control the robot by voice: for example, you can program cleanings very easily using the assistants. However, the application will not be able to display a map of the home, as the robot is not capable of doing so. A very practical feature that is found more on more efficient models.
Finally, in terms of autonomy, the Roomba 697 can theoretically operate for 90 minutes before having to go through the recharge box. Enough to carry out a complete cleaning of the home, even if everything will depend, of course, on the size of the latter.
