Parker solar probe sets records for approach to the Sun and flight speed

Until September 27, 2023, no man-made object had ever flown so close to the Sun and at such incredible speed. On this day, the Parker solar probe streaked past the photosphere of our star at a speed of 635,266 km/h at a distance of 7.26 million km and collected a new portion of invaluable data about the solar wind and more.
