Performance was improved thanks to OpenGL 3.3.
Video cards from the Chinese company Moore Threads were significantly speeded up in some games thanks to driver updates. The performance of Moore Threads cards in GTA V increased by 60%, in PUBG by 80%, almost doubling.
Also, the new driver was able to improve the performance of video cards in Valorant, Far Cry New Dawn, Assetto Corsa, The Sims 4, Genshin Impact, Tropico 5 and many other games.
Performance improvements were achieved thanks to the introduction of support for the OpenGL 3.3 graphics API. As VideoCardz notes, this is not the most modern interface: OpenGL 3.3 debuted 13 years ago.
Formally, Moore Threads gaming video cards have fairly high performance: the flagship theoretically competes with the GeForce RTX 3060. The actual performance is much lower: approximately at the level of the GeForce GT 1030.
The main reason for the low gaming performance of Moore Threads video cards is precisely the lack of support for modern graphics APIs at the driver level and the lack of optimization for specific games. Obviously, the driver developers are trying to figure out these problems.
