The coaching staff of the Ukrainian women’s handball team has determined the composition of the team to prepare for the 2023 World Cup.
In total, Vitaly Andronov’s headquarters called 20 handball players to the training camp. Welterweight of the Slovak “Juventa” Irina Kompaniec will join the team before the World Cup.
Goalkeepers: Judith Balogh (Washas, Hungary), Maria Gladun (Lokomotiva, Croatia), Viktoria Saltaniuk (Kobejice, Poland)
Central: Maryana Markevich (“Galichanka”), Tamara Smbatyan (“Alba Fehervar”, Hungary)
Semi-intermediate: Karina Soskida (Juventa, Slovakia), Yulia Andriychuk (Dacia, Romania), Tatiana Poliak (Galichanka), Anastasia Orzhakhovskaya, Anastasia Parkhomenko (both – Spartak-ShVSM), Evgenia Koguch (Juventa, Slovakia).
Extreme: Alisa Petriv (“Carpathians”), Marina Konovalova, Olesya Dyachenko, Milana Shukal, Ekaterina Kozak (all – “Galichanka”)
Linear: Irina Prokopiak (“Galichanka”), Anastasia Melekesceva (“Kobejice”, Poland), Adriana Naumenko (“Zaleu”, Romania), Karina Kolodiuk (“Carpathia”).
For Parkhomenko, Orzhakhovskaya, Dyachenko and Kozak, this is the first call to the national team.
Let us remind you that the 2023 World Cup will be held in Denmark, Sweden and Norway and will begin on Wednesday, November 29. The Ukrainian national team will play against teams from Brazil, Spain and Kazakhstan in the group stage.
