Goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin commented on the match with Italy (0:0).
“There is always pressure in matches for the national team, but if you play at the top level, it is impossible to play without pressure. Unfortunately, we couldn’t score, but I’m very happy for my team because everyone gave their best. It was a little short, but we will still have a second chance. See you in March.
– What do you think the team lacked to score the goal and get the desired ticket to the Euro?
“One precise strike was not enough.” Everyone had a million percent desire. All that was missing was this one precise strike.
– Do you feel empty after the game? Or do you understand that there is still a chance to compete for a ticket to the Euro and this calms you down a little?
“This doesn’t reassure me at all, because everyone was playing only to win and I believe that if there is a chance, then you need to take it here and now. Of course, it’s good that we have another chance, but I really wanted to win today and no longer look at the playoffs, but to be at the Euro.
– How did you manage to cope with the Italian pressure in the first half?
– Because I have such a team. Through team efforts, we managed not to miss, but, unfortunately, this is not enough,” quotes Anatoly Trubin as saying in an interview with Megogo, Tribuna.
