Developers from Larian Studios reportedthat after an unexpected delay, closed beta testing of the seventh major patch for the fantasy role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally started on Steam.
Let’s recall that the “beta” of the update was supposed to start on July 22, but the developers encountered a critical bug – passive dice rolls (behind-the-scenes skill or stat checks) stopped working.
They promised to launch the test by the end of the week, but they managed to do it in three days: on July 25, the “cubes rolled” again. Those selected to participate from those who applied should see the option to download the test version in their Steam library.
Larian hasn’t specified how long exactly the closed beta will last, but promises to include more participants in the testing during it – the request access button is still active on the Baldur’s Gate 3 page in Steam.
The two main features of the seventh patch will be the expansion of the “evil” endings (for the Dark Seduction, other characters with backstories, and unique heroes) and modding tools along with a mod manager.
The update also promises dynamic split-screen, new legendary actions in Valor mode and the ability to activate its elements in custom mode, performance improvements, and much more.
The seventh patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released in September on PC (Steam, GOG), Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The update will not be the last: the game will also feature crossplay, photo mode, additional gameplay innovations, and more.
