Crytek revealed Hunt: Showdown 1896 today! In the next chapter of Hunt, you can enjoy a whole new experience that takes you geographically from the bayou hinterlands to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It launches August 15, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The first map, Mammon’s Gulch, introduces a vast and detailed new biome that places hunters in the shadows of Colorado’s mighty mountains. With the element of expanded verticality and a variety of new tactical vantage points, the peaks loom like sentinels over the long-forgotten city. But beneath the lush forests and towering hills, corruption simmers from the oil fields below.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 also brings the power of CryEngine 5.11, with much-anticipated improvements across the entire gaming experience, including massively upgraded visual effects, audio design, performance, and more.
You will also be welcomed back to the Bayou after launch with revised and restored original maps.

Console gamers will also see native 4K and 60fps support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as 60fps and 2k for Xbox Series S, all in beautiful HDR.
The launch of “Hunt: Showdown 1896” on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S brings with it the discontinuation of the title on the last generation platforms. This means that as of August 15, the original “Hunt: Showdown” will no longer be playable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
As announced in fall 2023, all console players will automatically receive a free upgrade to the new game on their next-gen consoles, including all previous purchases and progress.
Players who have not yet made the jump to the new console generation can rest assured that the Hunt Upgrade is waiting for them at any time.
