After the open beta was completed, the developers at Firewalk Studios made a comprehensive FAQ article available about the upcoming multiplayer shooter “Concord”. In it, the studio answers various questions from the community.
Thanks to the open beta, all interested players had the opportunity to play the multiplayer shooter “Concord” in detail last weekend.
After the beta was completed, Firewalk Studios addressed and answered various questions from the community. First, the studio pointed out again that “Concord” will launch with twelve maps and six modes. There are also 16 characters or freegunners, which are available in different versions.
You unlock the additional variants by progressing in the game and completing weekly tasks, for example. The free post-launch updates for “Concord” will include new characters as well as additional modes and various surprises.
Developers forego a Battle Pass
Regarding the rewards, Firewalk Studios added that there are hundreds of cosmetic items waiting to be unlocked. The developers have decided not to use a classic battle pass, as used in various other live service titles, in “Concord”. Instead, you unlock the rewards by completing jobs and increasing your level.
“We wanted to focus our attention on making Concord a rewarding and exciting experience from day one, where you earn meaningful rewards just by playing the game, leveling up your accounts and characters, and completing jobs,” the team said.
Looking at the modes included, Firewalk Studios explained that there will be a training mode at launch, but we shouldn’t expect solo modes like “Free for All” at release. The same applies to a function that fills empty slots in an ongoing game to ensure balanced matches.
A feature that could, however, be added at a later date.
What about penalties for quitters?
One of the criticisms of the beta was the fact that players who deliberately left a game in progress were not punished. As Firewalk Studios admitted, quitters will not be punished at the launch of “Concord”. However, the studio is already thinking about appropriate solutions.
It is currently unclear when these will ultimately find their way into the multiplayer shooter. “Concord” is in development for the PC and PS5 and will be released on August 23, 2024.
