Publisher Bandai Namco and developers from the Japanese studio FromSoftware for the first time shared official information on global sales of last year’s action movie Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
Let us recall that 700 thousand copies of Armored Core VI were sold on the Japanese market in two and a half months (a record for the series), while global sales, according to the game’s voice actor, reached 2.8 million in a month and a half.
As it became known, a month before the first anniversary, the total digital sales and shipments of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon to retail stores exceeded 3 million units.
“Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon has sold over 3 million copies! Thank you, Ravens, new and old, who have braved the fire and flown on the wings of others,” the developers’ message reads.
The game takes place in a future where interstellar travel has become commonplace. According to the plot, the hero, an independent mercenary, arrives on the planet Rubicon 3 in search of a mysterious substance called coral.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon was released on August 25, 2023 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. The game has earned high marks from critics and “very positive” reviews on Valve’s service.
FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki called Armored Core VI a success in a post-release interview, although “not everything[in the game]was perfect, and we still have a lot of room for improvement.”
