It was pretty clear that Paramount would move heaven and earth to make a third Top Gun movie after Maverick came out in 2022 and became one of the biggest movies of all time. While we’re still waiting for official information on where this third installment in the action series will be set, at least we now know that Glen Powell will return as the character from Hangman and that the film also has a tentative date.
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, where he promoted Twisters with Daisy Edgar-Jones, Powell stated that a date has been set for Top Gun 3, before alluding to knowing more information that he cannot share at this time.

One thing we do know is that Tom Cruise is still busy falling out of airplanes to stunts for Mission: Impossible 8, which means all filming for Top Gun 3 will have to wait until that is in the books and Cruise is ready to get back in the pilot’s seat.
