In March of this year, GSC Game World released 3 classic games of the STALKER series on consoles. As part of a single collection for $39.99, STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy became available on Xbox and Playstation:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of ChernobylS.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear SkyS.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
All 3 games have Russian localization, but only in subtitle format; there is no Russian voice acting in them, although it was available in the basic games on PC.
At the end of June, mod support was added for games from the STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy collection via the mod.io platform. Over the past month, Russian localization has not appeared among the mods. Although the mod creator community claims that they tried to add it.
Now on page with a full list of mods for games from the STALKER collection, you can see that many previously approved mods have changed their main image and description. Several creators of the modification have united in a single protest “against discrimination” from GSC Game World.
In the description, the mod creators say that since the launch of mod support, more than 6 modders have tried to upload mods with Russian voice acting. None of them were approved, and all mentions of them are being removed. The mod creators note that this is discrimination on the part of the developers, and at the same time point out that, most likely, these mods, where pictures and descriptions were changed, will also be removed over time.
It should be noted that since the launch of the platform with mods for games from the STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy collection, not many modifications have been released. For each game, about 20-30 are available, while the most popular mod (Ultimate Addon for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl) has only 11 thousand downloads.
