The New World: Aeternum closed beta for consoles goes live today, and Amazon is sharing details about the testing goals, the content that will be featured, and the schedule of events.
The closed beta for cross-play will begin on July 25 in North America and Europe. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X players will be able to participate and help the Amazon team polish the game until October 15. If you haven’t received an invite yet but are interested, there are plenty of resources online to help you get your hands on a key to test it out.
The beta will focus on a few areas, with the first phase focusing on introducing new players to the game and the first-time user experience. The second phase will begin on July 28, and this portion will focus on high-end content. With Amazon adding two entirely new platforms to the cross-platform, cross-play experience along with the PC community, it’s clear why it’s important to spend time on new players and the onboarding process.
In the second step, you will be able to create a new character and select a level 65 preset to play with. If you don’t want to create a new character and just want to play with the character you started in the first step, you can do that too.
If you choose a preset character, you will get some nice gear, weapons, max level attribute points, and full access to all weapon masteries. Once you have the gear, you will be ready to play through the content, play with builds, skills, and get a better idea of what playstyle suits you.
