The creators of The Casting of Frank Stone have released a new development diary, which is dedicated to the project’s setting – the town of Cedar Hills.
Initially, it was a small settlement near a steel mill, but over time the mill went bankrupt, so people had to leave their native lands.
However, after some time, the residents decided to go back, but were unable to completely change the appearance of the city. Therefore, on the streets, the player will encounter both modern elements and details of the past.
In addition, the building of that very large plant has not disappeared anywhere – at the beginning of the game, users will see it in action, and later they will visit abandoned premises where nature already reigns.
In the process, it will be possible to assess the traces of past tragedies that unfolded within the walls of this industrial complex. It is here that the main characters of the horror adventure will shoot their debut film.
The authors separately spoke about the advantages of the Unreal Engine 5, which made it possible to use various new technologies.
For example, the Lumen lighting system, and also Nanite, with whose help the environment was created. In particular, the authors added real objects to the game, which did not lose their detail.
Even during the gameplay, players will be able to see references to Dead by Daylight, including various details of mythology and other similar moments. Let us remind you that the action of the new game takes place in the same universe as DbD.
The Casting of Frank Stone is set to release on September 3rd on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
